Marcia was born
and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She has lived in most of the
Canadian provinces and spent seventeen years in Canada's Arctic.
Always interested
in art and related subjects, Marcia has taken classes in pottery, batik,
painting on silk and calligraphy before focusing on watercolor. She
has attended two summer sessions at Metchosin Summer School of the Arts
at Pearson College on Vancouver Island as well as workshops in Yellowknife
and Regina.
Marcia has travelled to Europe (with Jack Reid) and painted in Provence, France with Ward Schell and Jennifer McCorrie.
She began classes
in watercolor in Victoria, BC in 1991 at the recommendation of her neighbour,
artist and friend, Joyce Spillsbury (Trace).
